Organisational Structures The role of the Learning Centre & Calvary Group in the learning process Calvary University is Organised World-wide
Educational InstitutesOrganizations which have their own programmes that fit into the same fields of the Faculties of Calvary University, have co-operation programmes in place to train registered CU students in the country of residency with face to face contact through Academic Tutors. These co-operation arrangements include administrative functionality through these educators up to the point of a transcript for certain or all of the credits. Regional Mentors – QualityA country will typically have one or several Mentors whose task it is to oversee the quality deliverance in that region of the country through several training centres or Calvary groups as described below. Their qualification is preferably post-graduate or final degree (M or D). They should be respected in their community and dedicated to the educational process of training current and future leaders in one or more academic fields. Training Centres – AdministrationThis is an organisation within another organisation or standing on its own and dedicated to train students in academic fields such as a College or Bible School. They are able to administer tutors and students in classes or distance groups and individuals through an educational process which accumulates credits of academic learning. Tutors – Academic SupportThe Tutor plays the most important role in the learning process in that this is where contact with the student takes place. It makes the learning process to be molded according to a Biblical discipleship model. The Tutor gives support and guidance to coach the student towards accumulation of credits. The tutor arranges for a peer-group which creates the environment of exploratory discussion of relevant problems and scenarios from which the student has the most fruitful learning experiences. Since modern-day training requires practical outcomes and therefore training in skills and attitudes, the tutor is also required to handle an important part of the assessment process which needs a face to face presence with the student. Calvary Groups – Students & PeersWherever a number of students are found together, a Calvary Group is formed. If this is not within the context of a Training centre, it is still called a Calvary Group, and the administrative functions of the TC are performed by a Tutor or dedicated group administrator. A Calvary Group has no set limits but must operate in its function of facilitating students through various Academic Tutors with a vision to multiply their activities and numbers of Tutors as well as students. | ||
