We essentially have a built-in sense of right and wrong, and are being tested to determine our quality.  The gift of immortality remains our ultimate reward for responding to these given senses in an appropriate manner. The Bible says that sin brought death into the world, but since the beginning of creation God intended for us to live forever. We may even have been created physically immortal before the original sin, which was committed by Adam and Eve. 

A sin is something you know to be wrong, but do it anyway.  The Bible says everyone has sinned, and will die as a penalty for their action. Due to the sin in our life, God has separated himself from us, but desires for us to repent from these sins thereby we may commune with him once again. Repentance is the key to having a personal relationship with God, and receiving the gift of immortality. We must commit within ourselves to never again do the things we know to be wrong, but the many past sins in our life frequently prevents us from doing so.

God is willing to forgive us for all the bad things we have done, if we will only eliminate them from our lives. Our creator has tried repetitively throughout human history to put mankind on a path where they would lead righteous lives, but without strong parental and social guidance, civilizations eventually fall into depravity. It is extremely important that parents teach their children about God and give them good examples to live-by. This very fact may be the reason why God destroyed all human life on earth, and restarted human history beginning with Noah; and then again began a new bloodline by selecting Abraham to found the Jewish nation. There have been times when there was only one righteous man on earth, and God has taken drastic measures on many occasions in attempt to correct the moral direction of humans.

God simply wants us to turn away from the sins in our life. He has sent his own son Jesus Christ to die for us to pay the penalty of death for our sin, and serve as example for us to live by. Our punishment has already been paid by God himself.  All we must do is ask for forgiveness through Jesus, and repent from the sins we have recognized. God's ultimate intention is still for us to live with him in an immortal and God-like state. Our creator watches over us, and we may have a relationship with him here on earth. We were given life to be companions with a being whose greatness is incomprehensible. Our God was capable of speaking the entire universe into existence, and create the beauty and majesty of the earth by his hand. If you do not know God, you have not yet experienced the life you were designed to have. Stop the cycle of sins in your life, and reunite with your creator.

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
