Registration Fees Administrative fees and registration procedures for students Fees RationaleCalvary University has structured the costs of its academic programmes to keep them at an affordable level for all students. This involves paying only registration and graduation fees directly to CU if all materials can be offered at the local Learning Centre or Calvary Group. These Centres/Groups then determine, in consultation with CU, what the tuition fees will be for each course. All other courses using prescribed textbooks, Web-based tests and a Course CD have prescribed fees based on the number of credits allocated to the course. Acceptable (accredited) Learning Centres will be those who adhere to a standard of accreditation according to which an internal quality management system is maintained. The Standards of Accreditation as published and managed by Christian Quality Assurance (CQA) is one such acceptable standard to which CU adheres. CU will not compromise on these widely accepted standards and will not apply for any other secular accreditation which will multiply fees due to a costly and time-consuming administrative process. Application FeesCalvary University has set application fees per qualification or per 120/150 notional credits (30/60 semester credits) which lead to a qualification at $85. This includes entry to any course, subject or module which forms part of a selected programme, the assessments, moderation of assignments, communication from the CU Website, use of career track planning programmes, the advanced life-long CV builder, certification and group postage. Postage to individuals will be $5 extra. Registration fees do not include any tuition fees, textbooks or a graduation fee.
* Note: If a Calvary Group is involved, the postage cost element is eliminated since more than 5 students’ certificates can be posted simultaneously to one postal address. This causes a reduction of $5 to the fees which brings the registration fee to $85. In many cases group payments are made to reduce bank and forex fees when registration fees are sent from non-dollar countries. Please enquire about the local arrangements. Tuition FeesAn enrolment fee as determined by the Registrar, Dean or local Calvary Group leader must accompany the application form to enrol at the local study entity. When the student is accepted for training, this fee becomes non-refundable. The monthly fee per single student and for couples is determined by the local administration and is paid monthly, or as otherwise arranged. The enrolment fee includes tuition, lecture guides, work books, tests and assessments but not textbooks, certification or gowns. It also excludes the cost of recommended books (an optional choice of books to be added to the student’s library). Certification FeeCalvary University has set the certification fee at $5 per qualification certificate which is included in the registration fee. Additionally a transcript may be requested at any stage for a further $5 plus postage and handling of $5 unless 5 students are grouped together for their certificates. Cancellation and RefundsWe believe that the student will be completely satisfied with his or her studies. However, if it is necessary for a student to discontinue studies, the following refund policy will apply:
Re-registrationStudent registration is valid for 24 months. All work towards completion of a programme must be handed in within 24 months from the date of registration for the specific qualification. A two month extention is granted at no cost upon request. A 12 month extension is granted at a fee of $30 (without going through the admission process for the same qualification). All enquiries about finances should be made at a local Calvary Group unless the student is registered with CU as not belonging to such a local group. In such a case the student may make enquiry through the Website, simply by stating his or her student number, in order to identify the student on the student database. Course MaterialsEach student (or in some courses: couples) and regular visitors, must purchase course materials in order to attend a class or study group. Individual guides, lecture books, work books or CD's are not for sale. No one is allowed to attend a CU class without having registered or without course materials. Please obtain financial information for a specific course at the Centre/Group concerned. | ||||||||||||||||||
